Analisys of the tourism discourse about serra gaúcha

This article presents an analysis of the tourism discourse considering some of its manifestations. This analysis makes it possible to understand that the discourse is a constitution factor of the tourism reality. The tourism discourse would be a model that reflects the action of the social actors of an economic system centered in the market, disregarding the needs of the receiving communities. The discourse describes tourism justifying its importance as a source of leisure, pleasure and as an alternative of economic development by means of social inclusion. When the positive aspects and the figures of its performance are emphasized through discourse, the economic relevance of tourism is evidenced. To explain these questions, this article analyses news of the newspaper Zero Hora about situations from geographic contexts of Serra Gaúcha, such as Região das Hortênsias (The Hydrangeas Region), Região da Uva e do Vinho (the Wine and Grapes Region), and Campos de Cima da Serra (the Fields in the Uplands).Downloads
