Adorno and Derrida: a debate on communication theory

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to question the use of the concept of “new information and communication”, taking advantage of critical theory, deconstruction and the possibility of connection between them. Whether, therefore, question the concept of NICTs as libertarian and emancipatory from its opposition to the means of mass communication, identified as oppressors and manipulators. I intend, therefore, discuss the binary oppositions on which still rely on many of the concept of NICTs.

Doutora e mestre em Filosofia (PUC-Rio), é professora adjunta no departamento de Comunicação Social da PUC-Rio e professora no departamento de Filosofia da UFF. Realiza neste momento pesquisa de pós-doutorado no âmbito do Programa de Pós-Doutorado Junior, com bolsa do CNPq, no qual pesquisa as possibilidades de articulação entre a teoria crítica e o pós-estruturalismo.
