Abstract

This essay critically analyze the historical evolution of state sovereignty and how the linguistic turn in the 1980s has changed its perception. We conclude that is a big challenge its study, but extremely important considering the current transformations nowadays, specially in times of international cooperation.

Wagner Martins dos Santos, PUC Minas

Wagner Martins is MA candidate in International Relations at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, in the program of post-graduation of International Relations. Graduated in International Relations at Faculdade Estácio do Recife and MBA in Business Administration at Brazilian Institute of Capital Market. The author is supported (scholarship) by CAPES and have interest to study the following themes: post-modern theories of International Relations, sovereignty, terrorism and the philosophical thought of Jacques Derrida.
