Abstract

This article analyzes the political and economic emergence of China and India in the contemporary international system, with emphasis on the cultural impact. Analyzes multiple forms of Chinese and Indian cultural influence, associated to the new role that has been occupied by these countries in the international system as well as the possibilities arising from relations between China and India.

Diplomata. Primeiro Embaixador do Brasil residente em Baku, Azerbaijão. Serviu, anteriormente, como Cônsul-Geral em Mumbai, entre 2006 e 2009 e, a partir  de 1982, durante vinte anos, na Ásia Oriental, sucessivamente, em Pequim, Kuala Lumpur, Cingapura, Manila e Taipé. Na década de 1970 trabalhou, na África,  nas Embaixadas em Libreville, Gabão, e Maputo, Moçambique e foi Encarregado de Negócios em Pretória, África do Sul
