Abstract

This article aims to analyse the mains steps of the international relations between Holy See and People´s Republic of China, during the Pope John Paul II´s pontificate, seeking to highlight the historical and political circumstances that so far have hindered the re-establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and the Holy See, as John Paul II desired.
