Food regimes, Brazil, China, Incorporated comparisonAbstract
In the last years, Brazil and China have been extensively analyzed by several social science disciplines, especially in questions about the impacts suffered by the Brazilian economy due to Chinese demand for commodities. The present article seeks to contribute to the debate on the interactions of these two national actors through the perspective of international food regimes. For this, a historical description based on the incorporated comparison method is constructed, in addition to a bibliographical review in face of empirical data found in public databases. With this, the article describes some of the main patterns of the international food regimes and partially understands the productive, commercial and political interconnections of the agricultural sectors of Brazil and China, specifically in the last food regime.
