COMPARATIVE DEGREE OF PRODUCTION COSTS BETWEEN CONVENTIONAL SOY AND TRANSGENIC SOY IN 2002/2003 HARVEST - RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract

The production of the soy is an activity of great expression in the group of the brazilian agrobusiness, which intends to get Brazil in the second place in world´s production. This work´s objective is to present a comparison of production costs between the Culture of Conventional Soy and the Transgenic Soy in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Crop 2002/2003, as well as evaluating the excellent productivity in this harvest. The analysis involves aspects of soy production. In that sense, it comments the relevance of cost management and the importance of its information, decisive to decision making. It demonstrates the results obtained through methods of cost analysis. The need of larger researches and more studies is noted, once controversial aspects and little acquaintances still involve the theme.
