WORK MARKET IN THE PERCEPTION OF ACCOUNTING SCIENCES COURSE GRADUATING ACADEMICS IN THE STATE OF SANTA CATARINA

This study aimed to identify the perception of the graduating students of the Accounting course about the labor market. We conducted a descriptive research, survey and quantitative approach. The population of this research is composed of students of the Accounting course in three Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the state of Santa Catarina that are in the graduation phase, totalizing 125 students. The sample included 93 academics who properly answered the questionnaire. For data analysis and subsequent presentation of the results, there were descriptive statistics with the application of absolute frequency and relative frequency. The results showed that the Accounting course (university education) facilitates the entry into the labor market, as academics appear to be satisfied with the professional choice they made. The study results also indicated that the graduating students of the course in Accounting presented themselves aware of the requirements of the labor market, as well as skills and competencies they need during their training to be ready to enter the market work. Although during the course there was the absence of the theory of reconciliation with the practice in the perception of academics, they did not present difficulties to enter the job market.
