Abstract

The following is an interview with Chris Tilly, Professor of Urban Planning at the University of California Los Angeles - UCLA, a social researcher whose studies are focused on the Labor and Employment issues. Tilly holds a PhD degreein Economics and Urban Studies and Planning (1989) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT, with the thesis entitled “Half a job: How U.S. firms use part-time employment”. He was the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment[1] directorfor eight years until June 2016.

Roberto Veras de Oliveira, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Professor Associado da Universidade Federal da Paraíba - UFPB, atuando no Departamento de Ciências Sociais e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia (Mestrado e Doutorado), do qual foi coordenador entre 2013 e 2015. Atua, ainda, como professor permanente, no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (Mestrado e Doutorado), do qual foi coordenador entre 2007 e 2009. Preferencialmente, orienta seus estudos e pesquisas para os campos da Sociologia do Trabalho e da Sociologia Política
