SGADA - Management and Evaluation System for Environmental Performance: The application of a Environment Management System Model which uses the Balanced Scorecard (BSC)

This study aims at presenting an environmental management system (SGA) which uses the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a tool for the integration of the environmental and strategic issues a an organization. The SGADA Model was developed and applied in large organization of the entertaining line of business. The study starts with a discussion about the contribution of the traditional environmental management models and the model developed. Following, it presents the SGADA Model, as well as the contribution of the BSC as means of approximating the environmental and strategic issues of the organization. With the presentation of the model, the results of the application of the SGADA are discussed. The study also presents some final considerations, pointing out the strong and weak points of the model and its application.
