AGROEXPORT CONSORTIUMS: A STRATEGY FOR THE COMPETITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SWINE PRODUCTION CHAIN IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL
Keywords:
Strategic alliances, export consortium, swine production chain,Abstract
In an extremely competitive environment, based on the market globalization, Brazil reinforces its vocation to the development of agribusiness as a means of better inserting itself in the world economy. How will national companies, related to this sector, be able to go on competing face to the attraction of international capitals and companies in their traditional markets? It is assumed that one of the possibilities refers to the formation of strategic alliances, such as the export consortiums, guaranteeing greater opportunities of survival face to this scenario. The study identifies which factors are present in the formation of these alliances, from observing the constitution of export consortiums in the swine production chain in Rio Grande do Sul. The results obtained indicate that the constitution of these consortiums might increase the international productivity of agribusiness in Brazil, especially if they count, from the beginning of the organization process, with the colaboration of the public power, with the active presence of facilitating agents (brokers) and with the establishment of strategic alliances with international companies.
