Abstract

This work presents the development of a case study about of the Automated Warehouse of Tramontina Farroupilha S.A. The focus of the work is in the description and analysis of a differentiated alternative, in terms of investments and structure, that the company found to qualify its operations, mainly in terms of the intrinsic aspects to the practice of the logistic and the function of storage of raw materials, components, products in elaboration and finished products in order to achieve a competitive advantage over competitors, consolidating, thus, its market position. In this way, initially, the process of operation of the Automated Warehouse is described standing out the main activities. Subsequently, the automation devices and the computer science used in the process are described and, finally, the system advantages for the company as well as for the customers are identified
