Abstract

Frequently two steps are necessary for organizational innovation takes place. In the first step occurs the decision to adopt the innovation, which is denominated as primary adoption. In sequence occurs the actual implementation by individuals. This step is denominated as secondary adoption and it represents the most critical phase for benefits generation to the organization. Conceptually, few studies have done distinction between pre and post adoption of innovation. The present study combines innovation diffusion and attitudes theories aiming at examining differences between users and potential users of the Management Project Methodology for Information Technology. A sample of 219 information technology managers has been conducted. Based on the SmartPLS software for Structural Equation Modeling the results have showed minimal differences between the two groups. Study implications are discussed and suggestions for future research are presented.
