The school, as an institution of formal education, makes up the daily space of children and adolescents, therefore, the school is an environment of experiences and social relations between different people, among them, those who have the obligation to attend it, such as the juvenile offenders. The question that motivates our study is to understand the impacts and tensions between the socio-educational and educational systems based on the meanings of juvenile offenders, about school, violence and serving time? This paper aims to describe the meanings of juvenile offenders who comply with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in serving time at the Cáceres’s (MT) Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (CREAS). Phenomenology was used as a research approach, mainly in the Merleau-Ponty conception. Field research was carried out, with adolescents selected through sample closure by theoretical saturation, reaching 06 adolescents. Interviews were conducted which, after being transcribed, were transformed into units of meaning, according to the number of incidences. These units formed the nomothetic matrix, which combined with other information, produced the results of this research. The school, as a space for social interaction, is the place where everyone exercises their right to education, whether or not they are complying with socio-educational measures. To remain part of his school social group (peers), this teenager strives to build a positive image, keeping his status as an offender hidden.
