ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes the book Nós somos só filhos, by Sulamy Katy (2011), investigating how this work reflects the worldview of indigenous peoples, based on the concept of Teko Porã. The research seeks to understand how colonization and colonial records have shaped historical narratives about indigenous peoples, as well as examining how indigenous literature written by women re-signifies these representations. The poem identified elements that exalt ancestry, identity, collective memory, the spiritual relationship with nature and its maternal character. The study therefore demonstrates the relevance of this literary production as cultural resistance, appreciation of indigenous traditions and as a way of thinking about other ways of inhabiting the planet.
KEYWORDS: indigenous literature; female authorship; teko porã.
