VARIACIÓN TERMINOLÓGICA Y CORREFERENCIALIDAD TEXTUAL

Résumé

The object of the article is to investigate the relation between text and terminology, in particular, therelation between textual behaviour and expert meaning. With this purpose, we have studied the reductional paradigm ofthe noun phrase petróleo crudo in eight texts of different degrees of expertise and then analysed co-referentialitybetween the variants. As a result of the analysis, we have verified that the more expert texts present no linguisticevidence so as to decode the co-referentiality between the complete form (petróleo crudo) and its reductions (petróleoand crudo). These are only interpreted as co-referential by experts whose lexical competence includes the necessaryknowledge to establish an appropriate causal relation between the noun phrase and its extratextual referent.
