CONTRIBUIÇÕES DA PRÁTICA TEATRAL PARA A EDUCAÇÃO EM LÍNGUA DE SINAIS

Abstract

The Brazilian Sign Language – LIBRAS is composed of visuospatial signs that are emitted by the body. As in Theatre, the use of the body is a fundamental aspect for the creation of situations of expression and communication. The objective of this article is to analyze and elucidate contributions of theatrical practice to the teaching-learning process and dissemination of LIBRAS, in view of the experiences of embodiment and communication in the school context. For this, approximations of concepts shared by both areas of study will be pointed out and analyzes will be made regarding how these areas relate to corporeity and language as a means of communication. This research is configured as qualitative research, in view of the themes addressed, where quantification in numerical form is not sought. As for the technical procedures, this research can be characterized both bibliographically. From the woven analyses, it is possible to perceive that theatrical practice can reinforce the autonomous aspect of sign language, contribute to an improvement in communication with the body and provide experiences of cultural encounters, essential for a critical intercultural education.
