A FATAL(IDADE) PORTUGUESA: UMA LEITURA DE BREVIÁRIO DAS MÁS INCLINAÇÕES

This article aims at interpretating portuguese identity issues in José Riço Direitinho’s novelBreviário das más inclinações. This narrative seems to incorporate post-modern forms, but the bizarre
protagonist José de Risso suggests a particular dissemination of traditional subjects. It seems indeed as if
Portugal itself was represented to such a hero as Risso, involved either in natural curses or in mysterious
miracles.
