UMA ANÁLISE INTERSECCIONAL DAS PERSONAGENS PRETA SUSANA E D. LUIZA B. NO ROMANCE DE MARIA FIRMINA DOS REIS

Abstract

Women’s work retrieval is really important, because it were, for a long time, ignored by the critic, and it’s essencial the black women’s work retrieval. By this way, this paper intend to analyze the novel Úrsula, from the author Maria Firmina dos Reis, as from intersectionality theory, emphasizing race, social class and gender aspects in the narrative. Preta Susana and Luiza B. were the analyzed characters and the conclusion about them was that aspects of gender, social class and race are strongly present in the novel, contributing to characters complexity and a faithful picture from the novel’s production time.
