Literacy and Alphabetization: understandings and educational implications

This article presents a Systematic Literature Review aiming to reflect on the concepts and understandings of alphabetization and literacy. The research involved consulting two databases: the Periodicals Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and the Scientific Electronic Library Online, with inclusion criteria ensuring clarity in presenting the concepts and understandings found in the analyzed articles. The results highlight the need for a deeper reflection on teacher education processes to promote a more consistent understanding of literacy and alphabetization concepts.
