Abstract

The present work, of a qualitative nature, aims to discuss the history of policies aimed at people with special needs in Brazil and present the importance of the pedagogical environment in the teachinglearning process for this public. The justification for this work is the need to equip teaching
institutions and respective teachers to welcome this audience, focused not only on the socialization of students of this profile, but also on guaranteeing their effective learning. The methodology is based on a literature review, using the following terms as indexers for research: pedagogical environment, disability and inclusion. We emphasize that the scarcity of bibliographical production on the subject reinforces the relevance of this study and the need to think and produce knowledge on the topic, hoping to inspire educators and researchers in delving deeper into this topic as well as its application.
