Hannah Arendt y la cuestión negra

En “Reflexiones sobre Little Rock”, uno de sus textos más polémicos, Hannah Arendt aborda el tema de la desegregación escolar en el sur de Estados Unidos desde las categorías de lo privado, lo social y lo político, categorías que de por sí ya han generado controversia. En las últimas décadas se ha recuperado el texto para evaluar la aproximación de Arendt a la cuestión negra. Este artículo busca presentar un poco de esta discusión al evaluar si la defensa que hace Seyla Benhabib de Arendt en el contexto de las discusiones feministas de los años 1980 y 1990 – articulando dos modelos de espacio público en sus obras – es capaz de iluminar algunos aspectos del conflicto racial o si las distinciones realmente impiden la ampliación de la mentalidad de Arendt y su consecuente apertura a lo nuevo.
