Abstract

The Great Reset has had a severe impact on the Chinese economy, with implications domestically, and on the global supply chain. One consequence has been the decline in the overall market demand in China, with a significant negative impact on infrastructure development and the labour industry. A unique aspect is a survey is to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on innovation and integration of digital technologies in China. The authors explicate the impact of the Great Reset on the Chinese economy, the implications on the supply chains that China is a crucial part of, and the global implications thereof.

Dr Ramnath Reghunadhan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, India. He is the recipient of the IIT Madras Institute Research Award 2022 by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the Mira Sinha-Bhattacharjea Award 2019 (MSB 2019) by the Institute of Chinese Studies (India) and the 2021-2022 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan). He was Fox Fellow (2008–09) at Yale University, the first Centenary Fellow at SOAS, University of London (2013) and was most recently selected as the CISLI Fellow at the India China Institute at The New School, New York (2017–19).
