Colônia italiana e educação
Abstract
A antiga região colonial italiana do Rio Grande do Sul foi povoada por imigrantes italianos a partir de 1875. O ensino nos primeiros tempos da colonização foi realizado por professores italianos. Com o aumento do número de escolas públicas após a proclamação da República as escolas italianas tendem a desaparecer. O ensino nas escolas públicas e nas congregações religiosas estimulou a aculturação. O advento do fascismo na Itália fez com que fosse tentada a aproximação dos imigrantes com o regime fascista. A educação foi um dos meios escolhidos para conseguir a adesão dos imigrantes ao Estado fascista.

Abstract
Starting in 1875, the old italian colonial region of the Rio Grande do Sul was settled by Italians Immigrants. In the beginning teaching was accomplished by Italians teachers. With the increase of public schools after the Republic, the tendency was so called Italian schools to disappear. Teaching in public and congregational schools fostered acculturaturation. The advent of fascism in Italy forced immigrants to get closer to the fascist regime. Education was one of the means chosen to making immigrants adhere to the Fascist State.
