Entre os frutos e o arvoredo: a docência no projeto educacional republicano (1890/1896)
Abstract
Esta investigação pretende analisar o projeto republicano para a educação no Brasil. Examina as seguintes questões: a) como e onde essa preocupação com a docência se apresenta? e b) Quais as idéias de escola, aula e professor contidas nesse discurso? Para responder a estas questões são analisados o órgão criado pela reforma educacional de Benjamin Constant em 1890, Pedagogium, e o instrumento de veiculação de seu projeto, Revista Pedagógica, considerando que ambos funcionavam como dispositivos para conformar uma determinada idéia de escola de formação inicial e continuada dos professores, isto é, constituíram-se em elementos instauradores de uma pedagogia republicana.

Abstract
This investigation intends to analyze the republican project for the brazilian's education. It examines the following questions: a) how and where does the concern with teaching take place? and b) what are the ideas about school, classes and teachers present in this project? To answer these questions we analyzed the Pedagogium, an agency created by the educational reform of Benjamin Constant in 1890, and the Revista Pedagogica, a magazine which undertook to publish his project, taking into account that both worked as devices to shape a certain idea of school of initial and continuing graduation of teachers, that is, they consist of elements to establish a republican pedagogy.
