Abstract

We present a review of Maria Amélia Bulhões’ book on art and the internet in Brazil, essential for understanding artistic phenomena associated with the internet in the country. The author begins from her research about the art system taking
into account the impact of the digital experience, while interested in its expansion with the presence of the internet. Appropriating the term “dark energy” to name the internet in relation to the force that moves this expansion, it seeks to present, with unprecedented considerations, the state of the art of using the internet on a large scale in the production of other artistic possibilities, modifying the artistic system.
