Auteurs-es

Résumé

The aim of this study is to outline contributions from indigenous arts to environmental education practices and research. From the ecophenomenological perspective, we herein outline lessons to help better understanding how knowledge built in the peripheral spaces of hegemonic Western culture can help forming escape routes from a sexist, racist, classist and capitalist society. We address four aspects that can be learned from indigenous arts: 1) Arts, Agency and Alterity; 2) Life, Dream and Belonging; 3) Multinaturalism; and 4) Art seen as collective and community creation. We got to the conclusion that art-based research and indigenous arts’ cosmotechnics converge in the likelihood of both experiencing the more-than-human world and reflecting about ways of living on the Planet.
