Abstract

The present article aims at to reflect on the Foreign Policy and the presidential elections of 2014 in Brazil, from one retaken of the position of the candidates concerning the Mercosul and the future of the block, in the context of a bigger visibility of the subject in the mass media agenda. For in such a way, it will be boarded historical aspects of Mercosul’s formation and development, its advances and challenges, beyond the main theoretical and diplomatic evaluations on the complex process of regional integration, that oppose two distinct visions historically consolidated.
