Abstract

This paper analyses the way by which argentine daily La Nación reported/represented 1964 civilian-military coup in Brazil as a new/fact, intending to underline how that journalistic discourse, as it mobilizes recurrent images and interpretations, possible acted as an important component of an authoritative solution ideology face of the political and institutional crises that were growing in the region since as early as the decade of 1950.
