Brazilian Foreign Policy, Lula III, Press ReleasesAbstract
What are the most relevant guidelines of the institutional communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, during the first 100 days from Lula's third presidency? Press Releases are an analytical source for understanding the relationship between foreign policy and public opinion. Based on this assumption, this research analyzed press releases published between January 1st and April 10th, 2023, to establish priorities of Lula's administration about foreign policy. For methodological procedures, the notes were submitted to Automated Content Analysis (ACA) to produce Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) and Similitude Analysis. As a result, the notes were predominantly linked to bilateral relations. With the ACA, the CHD demonstrated greater relevance of regional integration mechanisms, while the Similitude Analysis demonstrated the importance of cooperation.
