Abstract

The objective this paper is to show how environmental accounting can assist the timber sector in the preservation of the environment, and help you expand actions to the economic development of the State of Roraima. It is proposed that the applicability of science entrepreneurs who work in the business of logging, to assist them in qualifying their products for export, with preservation of the environment. During the study showed that companies use Roraima accounting elements that could be applied to Environmental Accounting. In the course of this article was found that the logging companies in the State of Roraima not use the Environmental Accounting for failing to disclose the information related to financial benefits, economic, social and environmental. Was carried out field research, quantitative and descriptive involving the application of questionnaires to 20 companies in the timber sector. The objective was, therefore, justify and defend the importance of the implementation of Environmental Accounting in the logging companies in the state of Roraima. And in this context the accounting has important conceptual basis to contribute to the development of mechanisms for control and measurement of the relationship "business and the environment".
