Abstract

The study deals with Sustainable Development and the implications of a cleaner production model in the manufacturing processes of a furniture company. The goal of this research was to study the concepts of sustainable development and cleaner production in a plant. The research method was a case study applied in a furniture company. The data collecting techniques used were semi-structure interviews, non-participant observation and bibliographical research. The results show that the company, concerned with environment issues, has promoted changes in an effort to reach sustainability, it rearranged its manufacturing process and has recycled the residue generated during manufacture. The study showed that this company has casually adopted a cleaner manufacturing model, and the benefits confirm the sustainability.
