THE FORMATION OF MERCOSUL AS A FACTOR OF ALTERATION IN THE INSTITUTIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF PEACHES AGRIBUSINESS IN PELOTAS REGION

Abstract

The present study has as theoretical reference the New Institutional Economics, field on which the institutions import and impact over the agent’s behavior. This study observed the difficulties faced by the peach agribusiness in the region of Pelotas and searched to explain them through the changes in the institutional environment on which the agribusiness is inserted, through two instruments of research built to catch the transactions characteristics and agents, besides the participation of institutions, the role of the organizations and the technologies used in this agribusiness. At last, it follows that the formation of Mercosul and economics opening difficult the situation of Pelotas peach agribusiness, because in the level of block there weren’t created institutions in favor of their actions in global markets.
