Em formato de ensaio, o presente texto objetiva uma aproximação dos estudos de mídias e tecnologias da Educação Física (EF) a preceitos do Novo Materialismo (NM), com o foco na vertente Feminista (NMF). Para tanto, expõe e discute algumas das principais características desse campo emergente, propondo-as como inspirações para a pesquisa e a prática em EF na cultura digital. O ensaio se organiza em duas grandes seções. A primeira sugere um breve debate sobre os estudos de EF, mídias, tecnologias e comunicação, aproximando tais campos aos preceitos do NM e no interesse da cultura digital. A segunda apresenta o NMF e elenca duas perspectivas importantes relacionadas a essa corrente: os pressupostos do pensamento relacional e a importância metodológica dos mapeamentos. Por fim, o ensaio aponta que, ao ser tomado não como um conjunto teórico, mas como dispositivo de sensibilização, o NMF abre oportunidades de considerar as práticas didáticas e de pesquisa na EF, com as tecnologias e mídias, corporal e socialmente situadas. Além disso, assinala a necessidade de mais pesquisas e debates sobre o NMF na EF.
