RESUMO
O vestido de prenda é uma criação do Movimento Tradicionalista Gaúcho, que a partir de 1948 produziu um traje que representa a mulher gaúcha de tal forma a combinar com o traje dos homens (peões) gaúchos. Foi com o nascimento do 35-CTG que surgiu essa peça de vestuário tão importante, além de muitas outras tradições da cultura gaúcha. Esse vestido foi esboçado a partir de peças herdadas de outras culturas, como a açoriana e indígena. O vestido de prenda é o traje oficial feminino da cultura gaúcha e dá lugar de destaque, com delicadeza e bravura, à mulher símbolo da cultura gaúcha.

ABSTRACT
The Prenda dress is a creation of the Traditional Gaucho Movement, which since 1948 has devised a costume that represents the gaucho woman in such a way as to match the gaucho men’s attire. This important piece of clothing emerged with the birth of the 35-CTG, in addition to many other traditions of the gaucho culture. This dress was sketched from pieces inherited from other cultures, such as the Azorean and the indigenous. The Prenda dress is the official female costume of the Gaucho culture and with lightness and bravery provides notoriety to the woman symbol of the gaúcho culture.
