ABSTRACT
The study of the bandeirista house is not new. However, so far the analysis of its typologic origins has not been well explored, except for the remark that it has Portuguese origins with some Amerindian architecture influence. Our studies reveal the occurrence of other influences, such as African (from both black and white Africa), Berber, and Germanic. But in opposition to the expected, no significant Amerindian influence was detected. The present paper also intends to discuss the possible Eastern influences in its configuration.
