A PARTICIPAÇÃO DOS ESPANHÓIS NO CONTEXTO IMIGRATÓRIO DO ESTADO DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL

O objetivo do artigo é efetuar uma reconstituição histórico-econômica da imigração espanhola no Rio Grande do Sul, via a contextualização das correntes imigratórias nas regiões mais dinâmicas do estado. Os procedimentos metodológicos compreendem, além da revisão literária, a construção cartográfica que indica as regiões que receberam o fluxo imigratório espanhol desde o final do século XIX até a primeira década do século XXI. Os resultados mostram que a imigração espanhola no Rio Grande do Sul desenvolveu-se em quatro regiões distintas, concentrando-se no estado em forma de “L” invertido, tendo suas grandes colônias na fronteira sul e na região metropolitana na parte do Delta do Jacuí próxima à região carbonífera, incluindo a capital, Porto Alegre. Essa imigração é representada nessas regiões pela sua cultura, arquitetura, monumentos e literatura, podendo ser considerada como uma das migrações de maior impacto e repercussões fora da América Hispânica.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this article is to make a historical economic reconstruction of the Spanish immigration in Rio Grande do Sul, through the contextualization of migratory flows in the most dynamic regions of the state. The methodological procedures include, apart from the literature review, the cartographic construction that indicates which regions received the Spanish immigratory flow from the late nineteenth century to the first decade of the twenty-first century. The results show that the Spanish immigration in Rio Grande do Sul developed itself into four distinct regions, concentrating itself in the state in the shape of an inverted “L”, with its larger colonies located on the southern border and in the metropolitan area, in the part of Jacuí Delta, next to the carboniferous region, including the capital, Porto Alegre. This immigration is represented in these regions by its culture, architecture, monuments and even literature, and could be considered as one of the Spanish migrations with higher impact and repercussions outside the Hispanic America.
