PSEUDOLUS 1–132: TRADUÇÃO EM PROSA E NOTAS

Authors

Abstract

This paper presents a translation of the first scene of the play Pseudolus, by the roman writer Plautus (ca. 254–184 BCE). The Latin text stablished by de Melo (2012) to the Loeb series was taken as reference. This is the only play of Plautus with no translation to Portuguese, according to Rodriguez & Alvarez (2020). This translation aims at partially fulfilling this gap. Ancillary notes to a better understanding of the text were added. They present elements of roman culture not available to us, explanations on the solutions adopted in the translation, and brief interpretive suggestions. They present content based on de Melo (2012), Christenson (2020), and also commentaries by the author.
