TRADUÇÃO COMENTADA DO CONTO ÂNGELA - UMA HISTÓRIA DE AMOR INVERTIDA

Authors

Abstract

This article is a translation of Angela - An Inverted Love Story, originally published in 1890 by British author William Schwenck Gilbert. The short story tells the story of a paralyzed gentleman who falls in love with the inverted reflection of his neighbor, a young woman whom he has known since she was a little girl, in the Venice canal. Over the years, he sees her grow and then begins to communicate with her through gestures and flowers thrown into the canal. The decision to translate this story was due to the importance of translating a work by Gilbert, who wrote beautiful stories, but that unfortunately are difficult to have access to due to the absence of translations into Portuguese.
