Objective: To evaluate the oral health indicator – proportion of pregnant women with dental care – in a Family Health Unit (USF) in the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study which used publicly accessible secondary data. Data from the Previne Brasil Program were evaluated, related to the indicator of the proportion of pregnant women with dental care provided, in a USF linked to the Municipal Health Department of Porto Alegre (SMS-PMPA) by the contracted Vila Nova Hospital Association, located in the South coordination of Porto Alegre, in the period from 2022 to 2023. The data were extracted by the platform of the health information system for Primary Care (SISAB), indicator panel of the e-gestor AB platform. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. Results: The studied USF presented values above the target agreed by the Ministry of Health in 2022, reaching 89,6% and in 2023, 99,1% coverage. The city of Porto Alegre obtained 52% in 2022, and in 2023, 71%; the state of Rio Grande do Sul presented 46% in 2022 and 59% in 2023, while Brazil reached 49,7% in 2022 and 60% in 2023. Conclusion: The USF Oral Health team achieved results that were superior to the city of Porto Alegre, the state of RS and Brazil, with its performance being classified as excellent. The results evaluated demonstrate an important impact of linking performance in this indicator to funding from the Ministry of Health, enabling improved access to dental care during prenatal care.
