Abstract

This article is the result of reflections on the study carried out for the completion of the Nursing School at the Federal University of Santa Maria-RS, Brazil. It relates to the Nursing Care on Health Education to the child being that lives with the HIV/AIDS and was developed at the Pediatric Infectious Disease Service of Santa Maria University Hospital-RS, Brazil. Trying to find subsidies in order to make a reflection on the child-being, one resorted to the Humanistic Nursing Theory by Paterson and Zderad that enlightened the followed way, and provided a reflection on the Nursing knowledge, its purpose and its direction in the care science.
