OS CAMINHOS DA EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA: PRESERVANDO A MEMÓRIA E O PATRIMÔNIO CULTURAL NO VALE DO TAQUARI/RS

Abstract

RESUMO
O presente artigo dedica-se a discutir a importância da preservação do patrimônio cultural e sua relação com a memória social das comunidades, considerando os diferentes elementos de valor patrimonial e suas correlações, sejam eles materiais ou imateriais. Resgata alguns tópicos normativos no Brasil e no mundo, dando destaque contemporâneo ao tema do patrimônio cultural. A partir disso, projetam-se discussões sobre o papel da extensão universitária na promoção da educação patrimonial assentada na premissa de indissociabilidade entre ensino, pesquisa e extensão, no Vale do Taquari/RS. Como experiência concreta, apresentam-se as ações extensionistas nos municípios de Santa Clara do Sul, Cruzeiro do Sul e Forquetinha, com o propósito de salvaguardar o patrimônio cultural local. A identidade cultural nesses municípios é fortemente marcada pelas tradições de imigração alemã e açoriana, onde o patrimônio imaterial referem-se ao modo de vida das famílias, tanto no passado como ainda é notório no presente. Já o patrimônio material encontra-se representado na arquitetura local, com diversas edificações de valor histórico reconhecidas pelas comunidades locais, como resultado das experiências vivenciadas.

ABSTRACT
This article discusses the importance of preserving cultural heritage and its relation to the social memory of communities, considering the different elements of heritage value and their correlations, whether material or immaterial. It rescues some normative topics in Brazil and in the world, giving contemporary prominence to the theme of cultural heritage. Based on this, approaches the role of university extension in the promotion of heritage education based on the premise of indissociability between teaching, research and extension, in Vale do Taquari / RS. As a concrete experience, the extension actions in the municipalities of Santa Clara do Sul, Cruzeiro do Sul and Forquetinha are presented, with the purpose of safeguarding the local cultural heritage. The cultural identity in these municipalities is strongly marked by the traditions of German and Azorean immigration, where intangible heritage refers to the way of life of families, both in the past and continues in the present. The material heritage is represented in the local architecture, with several buildings of historical value recognized by the local communities, as a result of the heritage education experiences made.
