RESUMO
Dentre as várias contribuições para o campo dos estudos históricos no Rio Grande do Sul advindas do trabalho da historiadora Sandra Jatahy Pesavento, este artigo pretende destacar o seu pioneirismo em trazer para o Brasil reflexões advindas da História Cultural. Apesar de inicialmente terem sido vistas com desconfianças, as ideias de imaginário, representação e da relação entre História e Literatura impactaram as pesquisas historiográficas sul-rio-grandenses e ainda mantém sua relevância mesmo passados anos de sua chegada ao Brasil. Levando isso em consideração, o objetivo deste artigo é apresentar as reflexões dessa estudiosa sobre a relação entre História e Literatura a partir do exame de algumas das categorias basilares de seu pensamento. A partir desse enfoque, analisarei ainda sua contribuição para o estudo do regionalismo gaúcho, no qual suas reflexões permitem o qualitativo entrelaçamento entre as duas áreas.

ABSTRACT
Among the various contributions to the field of historical studies in Rio Grande do Sul arising from the work of the historian Sandra Jatahy Pesavento, this article intends to highlight her pioneering spirit in bringing reflections from Cultural History to Brazil. Despite initially being viewed with suspicion, the ideas of imagery, representation and the relationship between History and Literature impacted historiographical research in Rio Grande do Sul and still maintains its relevance even years after its arrival. Taking this into account, the aim of this article is to present this scholar’s reflections on the relationship between History and Literature from the examination of some of the basic categories of her thought. Based on this focus, I will also analyze your contribution to the study of regionalism in Rio Grande do Sul since her reflections allow a qualitative intertwining between the two areas.
