This article is the result of a survey about the perceptions of managers of a mining company in Minas Gerais concerning the factors of attainment and maintenance of power in their work relationships. The survey uses a qualitative approach to data analysis, where data was collected through structured interviews. The data analysis was based upon the work by John K. Galbraith, with a view to identifying power sources and tools used by the managers interviewed.
