The present work analyzed, through narrative bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach and descriptive-explanatory character, the right to quality and inclusive education for sexual minorities in Brazil. To achieve this proposal, the legal protection of the right to education was investigated, focusing on its quality. Likewise, inclusive education based on minority sexual orientation and/or gender identity was explored. Finally, the impacts of heterocisnormativity in the Brazilian educational system were addressed, noting that the school environment is one of the main places of reproduction of this ideology, compromising school inclusion, that is, access, permanence and school success of LGBTQIA+ students.
