In this article, we intend to analyze the concepts that envelop the Anthropocene and Capitalocene, according to a critical comparison between Anarres and Urras, central planets in Os despossuidos (1973), written by Ursula K. Le Guin. We will discuss how the utopian ambiguity of the political and social structure of Anarres can inspire different formulations regarding the destructive protagonism of humanity in relation to Earth's natural resources. On the other hand, we will present the planet Urras as an exacerbated reflection of the contemporary capitalist attitude that promotes the Capitalocene, an alternative term for the Anthropocene.
