This article seeks to analyze the process of autobiographical writing developed by Fernanda Botelho in Esta noite sonhei com Brueghel, through Luíza, the main character of the aforementioned work. Through her recollections, Luíza turns her gaze on herself, analyzing past events from her present convictions. In this way, the memorializing process present in the work is seen as a way of reordering - not only herself, but also her own reminiscences, as well as those of the writer herself. In this sense, it seeks to develop greater clarity about the present, based on past experiences. To this end, we sought support from the studies developed by: Bosi (1994), Candau (2012), Le Goff (2013), Ricoeur (2007) and Sarlo (2007).
