Abstract

This paper is based on the argument of the curatorship of the exhibition « Living with Robots » from November 2023 to May 2024, at the Japan House in São Paulo. Under the title « Real Robots », we intend to highlight that this event was one of the rare exhibitions entirely dedicated to robots that exist. Unlike robots that predispose to all kinds of fabulations about technology in general, robotics in particular, or a future world, the machines described in this article are not prototypes or laboratory robots, but rather consumer products in Japan.
