Abstract The psychiatric nursing consultation consists in a tool for qualifying the treatment of patients with psychiatric desease or other mental suffering forms taken into a general hospital. The main objective is to support and make operational the nursing teams on integral care of these patients when hospitalized in non-psychiatric units. The present article is a report on the implantation of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA)'s Psychiatric Nursing Consultation Program.Downloads
