Abstract

In this visual essay, my intentions are to present the work of humans and dogs in the context of black truffle (Tuber melanosporum) cultivation in Chile. From the photographic record of the different practices co-constituted by truffle dogs, truffle farmers and truffles, resulting from field research conducted between march and august 2022, I intend to demonstrate that the work of truffle hunting is characterized by mutual affectation and is only possible with human-canine commitment.
